canvas.pitzer.edu Pitzer Canvas includes four training and tutorial sites for instructors: two made by the Pitzer Canvas Team, and two by Instructure, the parent company of Canvas. These Canvas sites are open to the college and clicking the self-enroll links below will add the sites to your Dashboard and Courses list. The tutorial sites can be used as a reference guide for specific features, or you can choose to visit each Module for a more comprehensive experience. Canvas Instructors: Getting Started with Pitzer Canvas (self-enroll) Getting Started with Pitzer Canvas is a great place to begin your Canvas journey. The Getting Started site includes information on Pitzer Canvas and Canvas across the consortium. There are also essential details, such as how to post a Syllabus, and how to add readings and materials to your site. The tutorial videos in Getting Started are quite short, only 30 seconds or so, and they designed for specific tasks, such as Publishing your course site. Canvas Instructor Materials: Resources and Videos (self-enroll) The Resources and Videos site in Pitzer Canvas includes tutorials by Instructure and other discussions about Canvas at the consortium. These videos are longer sessions and cover more aspects of Canvas, such as Content Creation, Course Flow, and Assignments. Canvas Instructor Course: Building a Course Site (self-enroll) Building a Course Site is designed by Instructure, and it covers many important features in Canvas. For example, there are Modules on Accessibility, Learner Interactions, and Course Settings. Canvas Instructor Course: Deep Dive (self-enroll) The Deep Dive site was created by Instructure, and it includes specific features of Canvas. For example, there are Modules on Managing Content, Assessing Student Learning, and using Groups. Faculty and students at undergraduate colleges will login at their home college to see their course sites, even those from other schools. The Pitzer Canvas Team can create Guest accounts for participants outside of the Claremont Colleges. Please contact the instructor of the Pitzer Canvas site you would like to join and the instructor can request a Guest account. Instructors can contact the Pitzer Canvas Team at: canvas@pitzer.edu Pitzer Canvas guest participants will need to login at a special link, not canvas.pitzer.edu. The Guest account login link is: pitzer.instructure.com/login/canvas Guests will receive an invite to Pitzer Canvas via email. After selecting "Click here to finish the registration process," guests will be prompted to create a password. The time zone can also be modified to your region. After you have created your password and logged into Pitzer Canvas, please notify the instructor so they can add you to the site. Once you have been added to the site in Pitzer Canvas, it will appear on your Dashboard.
